Hanaa Dahy is an architect, founder and leader of BioMat TGU@TTI GmbH, and an Associate Professor at Aalborg University in Copenhagen. Born in 1980 in Cairo, Ms. Dahy is a registered architect and an internationally recognized expert in sustainable architecture and material innovation. She graduated with honors in Architectural Engineering from Cairo in 2003, earned her Master’s degree in 2006, and completed her doctoral studies at the University of Stuttgart between 2010 and 2014. In 2003, she founded her own architectural practice in Cairo, where she worked in both academia and the profession until 2009.

During her Junior Professorship at the University of Stuttgart, she established and led the BioMat department — Bio-based Materials and Materials Cycles in Architecture — within the Institute of Building Structures and Structural Design. She currently serves as Associate Professor of Sustainable Design and Integrated Technology at Aalborg University in Copenhagen and as Managing Director of BioMat TGU at TTI GmbH in Stuttgart
